She’s here! September 16, 2006

Just in case you’ve been wondering where I’ve been for the past week, our little girl arrived this week. We went to the hospital Monday night, so I’m catching up just now. She was born Wednesday morning at 7:54, and we’re in love. She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long (apparently that’s a long baby!). No gory details for now, but we had a pretty difficult delivery involving a C-section with forceps (two things that should never, ever go together!), so we’ve been in the hospital for the past week (total) and arrived home this afternoon. In the end, she’s doing great, with none of the problems the doctors were worried about and worked hard to check out while she was in the hospital. As I type this, she’s in a baby mini-coma (apparently she’s a very hard sleeper) in her baby swing. I am working on posting some of her first pictures soon. We have been overwhelmed with congratulations and will be soon with meals (yum!), so thank you!
