1) Andrew’s job as full-time worship leader at the church is probably/almost/just-about-official for the first of the year, so that is wonderful news! The poor guy can actually remember what’s it is like to work just one job…yeah for him (and us!). I have (apparently) been recruited to learn how to run MediaShout for the church services (lyrics and verses and such on the screen). We shall see how that goes…
2) I am back at work a bit (just one or two 1/2 days a week), and I apparently do still remember how to do my job. I was afraid that knowledge had fallen in the dark abyss Baby Girl’s birth has created in my brain. I am testing private and homeschool students, so I am once again working out of my car 90% of the time. Yuck. At least I get to see nice countryside and ridiculously expensive homes as I drive around Williamson County. Seriously, how big can your house BE? I also learned this week that having said million-dollar-home does not protect you from bad taste. I saw many a plastic Santa atop a mansion. Sheesh…if you spend that much money to have your yard professionally landscaped, must you then put plastic Christmas crap on it?
3) Though I am still fat (shut up–like my husband and friends are really going to tell me if I’m fat), I can now squeeze into two pairs of my pre-baby jeans. This is a real accomplishment. I solemnly do swear to get my butt to a gym in my next life. Until then, losing baby weight is slow and painful.
4) BG is (drum roll, please) pretty much sleeping through the night every night. She is three months old this upcoming week, so double yeah for us. She has been almost doing it since week 7, but not quite, and not every night. I am so very thankful for the inventor of the Fisher-Price crib aquarium and the millions of websites about helping babies sleep through the night. What in the world would I have done if I couldn’t go hop on the internet every time I have a baby question? Though you have to wade through a lot of hogwash sometimes, there is great info out there, and I have certainly made use of it. I have most of the “tried-and-true” books, too–but internet is way quicker.
5) Andrew and I are going on a real-and-true date this Wednesday. We are going to dinner and to see Andrew Peterson at the Ryman. Yippee! I am trying to remember, but I think this is the first time since BG was born. We have left her with my family while we ran to Starbucks, and with Andrew’s mom while we went to the doctor for Andrew. That’s it. Other than that, she’s been with one of us at all times. I have orchestra practice every other night this next week, so that will also be a welcome break from trying to figure out how to haul BG and myself to Brentwood Baptist every night.
That’s all for now. How many days until Christmas???
I must shop…
