It makes me feel like I’m making progress on my massive to-do list…
Thanks for all your get-your-bootie-in-gear comments. We close on our condo on the 28th, and close on our new house in Mboro on the same day. We will move into the new house that weekend, so bring your strong backs. Poor college people at our church–we’re mercilessly taking advantage of them to help us, including using a truck/trailer/driver from the church to hold all our junk for a few days while we’re in limbo. I love it. This is one great advantage of a small-ish church. Also one advantage of having the in-laws pretty close, because we’re crashing at their house for a week instead of having to get an apartment or hotel. It should be quite interesting.
We are so excited, and (of course) this was the very last house we went to see–and it wasn’t even in our plan for the day. Whoever took the online pictures did a crappy job, because I wasn’t all that excited to see it. However, once we got there, we were pretty sure it was the one. It is 2 years old, right off 96 in Mboro (good to get to Franklin), and on a dead-end street. It is white on the outside and yellow on the inside, in case you want to know–the opposite of a marshmellow peep.
However, it had only been on the market for 7 days, and we knew they had lots of showings scheduled the next day. Luckily, we were able to get on it right away (awesome realtor, yippee) and put down an offer. I know waaaay more than I ever wanted to know about real estate, home inspections, termite letters, etc. Did we just skip all this when we bought our first house? I don’t remember any of this, and it was just 3 years ago.
So, give me a few days, and then we can actually entertain. I’m so excited. Well, actually, we’ll have to get some more furniture first. I have no friends who are above sitting on the floor, right?
