Crayons in my coffee

More About Me September 8, 2008

Welcome! My name is Vanessa, and I am 27 years old (and I seriously just did a mental math problem to figure that out–sad). I am trying to figure out this whole adult thing (when did that happen, exactly?) and find my way in the world. I have a wonderful husband and a delightful daughter.

Current life, short version–

Family: Married to Andrew for 6 years, and I still like him the vast majority of the time. That’s pretty good, right? Andrew is the worship leader at our church, and that has been a great adventure so far. Baby Girl will be 2 in September and is a wild, crashing, screeching, fearless, unbelievably adorable mess.

Work: I am a school psychologist for a local school district. I am lucky enough to work only three days a week and spend time at home with the above-mentioned mess. I live in my car (a whole other mess). I am especially interested in research on autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and depression/anxiety.

Other stuff about me: couldn’t find my way out a paper bag (seriously, very bad with directions), lover of books, coffee, chocolate, and chai tea, cycling rapidly between debilitating perfectionism and slacker-mom-syndrome, and slowly discovering that I am at least partially hippie at heart (at least that’s what my husband thinks).

Newest interests: cloth diapers, bread-making, making my own cleaning supplies/detergents, and (of course) figuring out how everyone gets their blogs to look so cool when mine looks so lame.

Yes, those eyes pretty much always look like that

I’m 41 years old and I’m STILL trying to “figure out this whole adult thing”… I dunno when it happened either… I think I slept in that day.
And while your blog may not win any national awards, it doesn’t look lame.

And even us computer geeks still make lame posting errors like that extra “figure out this whole adult thing” at the end of my post.
YEESH! I’ll go back to my corner now…
